Match Reports

Greyfriars Ath Vets Report;

"Great game played in fantastic spirit. DREW 1-1 90 Mins lost on pens 4-1 due to our first one joining the balloon fiesta. all the best for the season"

LA Codgers Report:

" A good game played in a good sprit in super conditions. LA were let down by late player cry offs and an early injury to the keeper meaning that the resources were further stretched. To their credit Greyfriars did not complain and got on with the game. Greyfriars should have scored a couple in the first half but fired straight at the stand-in keeper Zac Dorrington. LA went close through Davy McGimpsey, but Greyfriars keeper pulled off a fine save with his legs. The LA goal came late in the first half from Marc Bartlett. Everyone tired in the second half sun and Greyfriars had most of the chances and finally equalised with five mins to go. The game went to penalties with Codgers scoring all three. Greyfriars had a Chris Waddle style blaze over the bar and then a save by the keeper to his left before finally scoring the third, but Codgers fourth went into seal the win. The game was well refereed by Geoff Prynn with no bad tackles and little dissent. Man of the Match was Paul Fitzgerald for marshalling the defence through the game. "
