Redland Ramblers Report;

"A string of great saves by Red Rich making his comeback for the Ramblers kept Classic X1 at bay for long periods but the continual pressure eventually paid off with a goal. Classic continued to pound the Redland defence but some resolute defending and fine goal keeping kept the score at 0-1. As the half wore on Ramblers started to create one or two chances of their own. A fine cross from Dave and a stunning volley from Johnny gave them an equaliser and it stayed this way until half time. Some neat passing football carved openings in the Redland defence and led to 2 early 2nd half goals for Classic X1. The pre-match discussions of extra time and penalties became increasingly irrelevant. As the half wore on it became a damage limitation exercise for Redland. The whole team never stopped fighting but the comparative youthfulness, coupled with some fine flowing football kept the goals coming for Classic X1. They must now be considered odds-on favourites for promotion and it will take a very good team to stop their cup run. The whole 90 minutes was played in the right spirit by both teams. "

Classic X1 Report:

" Game played in great spirit and first half ended 1-1 after a great equaliser by ramblers. Classic created more chances in second half and the goals followed. Pleasure to play Redland Ramblers."
