PaS Masters Report;

"The late night messages were flying out on Saturday in a desperate attempt for PAS to start this game with 11 men, which we did manage eventually, by the sounds of it Nailsea had a similar problem. This was a classic Casual League encounter, with Nailsea pinning PAS back for the first 20 minutes or so, until PAS got their first real opp with a break through from Sam and a great cross which Jason was inches short of sliding into the net, the rest of the half was a well fought contest where nothing of note happened as both teams struggled to assert their authority. Half time both teams went in roughly 0-0 & 50-50. Quite quickly after the whistle Sam with his unbelievable pace at 40 broke through the Nailsea defence and shot, the keeper saved it and Sam managed to score from the rebound, 1-0 to Pas. 5 minutes later PAS broke through the defence again Jason was through into the penalty box but was completely wiped out by the Nailsea defender from behind, however sadly the ref didn’t give the penalty and waved the game on, it did seem like a clear pen and the ref actually apologised after the game. 5 minutes later Nailsea won their 2nd free kick on the edge of our penalty area, this one was taken by their centre back who placed his shot perfectly into the top left corner, one of those free kicks you see on facebook with 1k likes, it was a cracker. Another 5-10 minutes later Ewan picked up the ball on the wing and scored, he said he was played onside by a Nailsea defender at the other side of the pitch, Ewan played on and ref played the game on and Ewan scored. We all ran back for the kick off but the ref consulted with the linesman and reversed the goal decision. At 1-1, with 2 minutes to go the ball went high up in the air about 5-10 yards outside the penalty area and Al swung at it to clear it out as the game was clearly head towards a 1-1 draw, however he sliced it and the ball unbelievable went completely the wrong way and back over the keepers head and into the net, giving Nailsea a 2-1 victory. PAS MOTM, Billy, played extremely well causing Nailsea all sorts of problems down the left wing. Tony and his team are a credit to the league, they are a good bunch and we will look forward to playing them again in a couple of weeks. "

Nailsea Vets Report:

" Fair play to PAS. At the start of the game I told them I had a 30 year old that would be on the bench and come on if we had any injuries and they were fine with that. Unfortunately our 55 year old striker got injured getting changed !!!! so the younger lad had to start but in all fairness he didn't really get a kick due to their centre half giving us nothing all game. Although it was an open game at the start we went into half time at 0-0. PAS opened the scoring just after half time and were on top for a while. We could have had a pen but the ref said the foul was outside of the box and PAS should of defiantly had one when our centre half rugby tackled their striker but bizarrely he didn't give it. Andy Iles equalized with a peach of a free kick ( his second in 2 games ). We got the winner in the last few minutes with an unlucky own goal, but this was a proper smash and grab and PAS certainly didn't deserve a defeat, but it was a really enjoyable game played in the right spirit ( apart from our winger with one late tackle ) "
