"Wick avenged last seasons winner takes all final league match with a 3-1 win over a 10 men Rapid. With Rapid only able to field 10 men, they went 1-0 up after a blazing error from stand in keeper Matt Davis after 20 mins. However Wick got back to level terms 5 minutes later after a Johnny Williams corner was headed in by Andy Summers. Rapid battled and honours were even at HT.
In the second half Wick started to make the extra man tell and went in front from a solo effort from Martin Webb, cutting in from the left half side to smash a shot from just inside the box after 70 minutes. The game was put to bed when after another Johnny Williams corner was met again by Andy Summers, who's header hit Martin Webb on its way in. Pulsating game, played in great spirit. Good luck to Rapid for the rest of the season. MOM - Andy Summers, controlled the midfield and a scored. Hope he comes back in one piece after next week's stagweekend in Benidorm. Up the older Owls."
Rapid Viagra Report:
" I know ten men who slept well on Sunday. The game was played in good spirit and Wick turned the screw efficiently in the second half. Rapid MOM goes to Tim Bartley, who ran his socks off covering the Wick attacks. Great all round team performance though. The team worked hard, played some attractive football and the hope of nicking something lasted well into the second half. Thanks to Wick for putting food on after the game."
