"A close hard fought game. Corries started against the wind and with the sun in their eyes. Madras put Corries under a lot of pressure which led to Elliot giving away a penalty, which Madras scored. Corries defended valiantly, with Mike in Goal making one absolute top draw save. Second half Corries began to pass the ball a bit better and eventually got a penalty themselves, which Ben duly missed! Heads didnt go down and Corries began to take control, which led to 75th min equaliser from a sweetly struck Marcus shot. Putting the pressure on Corries forced a few other chances, before netting the winner in the 83rd min from an edge of the box drive from Tom P. Overall a good team performance."
Real Madras Report:
" A bitter cold Sunday morning better spent in bed. Many thanks to Henleaze for providing us with a player and running our line. This was a typical game of two halves. We played the first half with the wind behind us and a depleted Madras side we manage to create several opportunities, which was rewarded with a spot kick. The resulting penalty was comfortably converted by Billiteri. Just before half time Madras lost another player as Terry Felt really ill (man flu) and could not continue. The second half Henleaze had the wind in their favor, which helped them to grow in confidence and start to control the game. Madras keeper had to pull off a point blank save from a header, a goal line save and also saved a penalty. The pressure finally resulted in an 75 minute equalizer and from then on, their was only going to be one likely winner. Best of luck for the rest of the season"
