Axbridge Saxons Report:

" Saxons travelled to Ultra Casual Cowboys. After starting the day with a squad of 15 found them selves down to 12 due to a broken boiler, a blown up car and poorly kids! Gaffer Lawes left the very capable assistant manager Parsons in charge for the day, after he was unable to attend due to Bobby Lawes being poorly. After a game of spoof for the only bench slot, the squad was selected and 3 - 4 - 3 formation chosen. Parsons in goal, back 3 of Hall, Ainsworth and the returning Murray. Gilmour left, Rich Homer & Wait in the middle and Chip right with a bold front three of Bugler, Buzz and Tullet. Saxons started well and were in complete control of the game, taking an early lead as Bugler scored after great work down the left. Easton pushed and had a great chance to equalise, only for the agile Parsons to push the ball around the post for a corner. Just before halftime Bugler put Saxons 2-0 up, with a great finish after a lovely move started from Hall at the back. Half time team talk was more of the same, but a slight change of formation going to 4-4-2 with Buzz pushing left. Saxons created numerous chances from the probing midfield play of Rich Homer and Billy creating good chances for Bugler and Tully. Bugler completed his hatrick after not moaning for the ball to be played through the channels once, finishing well. Easton pushed and some fine top drawer saves by keeper parsons kept the score 3-0, until 10 mins to go when the Easton striker scored what he described as the best goal of his career to beat the unflappable keeper. Chip had to leave the field with 15 to go, luckily super sub Willis was able to come on and hold the ball up well to help secure the 3 points MOM - Rich Hall "
