Redland Ramblers Report;

"Redland Ramblers 'did their usual' and conceded an early goal when a shot from outside the box looped over the keeper's head. Pill were passing the ball around well and things didn't look good for the Ramblers for a while until they settled into their stride. An indirect free kick was awarded to the Ramblers for a call of 'Yes, Yes, Yes' which can very occasionally be heard in the bedroom but is illegal on a football pitch - especially when it results in a pass straight to the opposition. The resultant free kick from just outside the box was slipped to Crispy Cains running outside of the defensive wall. His shot/cross into the 6 yard box was helped home by a Pill player but duly awarded to Crispy. Pill went ahead again when a penalty was controversially awarded by the home referee to the away team. The kick was magnificently saved by Neil in the Redland goal but Pill were far quicker into the box and slotted home the rebound to take a half time 2-1 lead. Ian Hill equalised for Redland 15 minutes into the second half with his first touch after coming back on from the bench. Both teams had chances to gain the upper hand. Chasing what looked like a lost cause Pill kept the ball in play from the byline, passed back to an oncoming forward who shot powerfully home from 15 yards. In the final minutes a cross by Dave near the left corner flag was expertly glanced home by Bruce at the near post. Both teams were left to reflect on 2 points potentially lost but can feel proud of a point gained in what was an excellent game played in the right spirit by both sides."
