Redland Ramblers Report;

"Whilst the weather took its toll on many other matches, booking the 4G pitch @ South Bristol ensured this one would go ahead. The match started in bitterly cold but sunny conditions with a strong wind favouring the Ramblers. A ramble shamble up on the half way line led to Wotton breaking away in a 4 on 2 and taking an early lead. Ramblers had their fair share of chances before and after this goal but the back of the net proved elusive until a blistering shot from Mirco drew the sides level. Continual Ramblers' pressure led to a second goal, from Mirco again just before the break. Half time 2-1. The second half was always going to be trickier with a gale force wind and hail at times. Wootton tried their luck direct from the kick off with a poerful shot that was tipped over the bar by Neal in the Redland goal. He had many more shots to save, mainly straightforward saves from distance. One shot however looked destined for the top corner but was superbly pushed to safety. Redland arguably had the better of the chances in the second half with shots going just over, just wide or being held up in the wind. Redland continued to absorb the pressure whilst looking dangerous on the break and were relieved to hear the final whistle. With Ramblers playing in Red & White and Wootton wearing blue & white quarters the game was destined to be a feisty affair. Both teams played with passion, that sometimes spilled over into over zealous tackles and one or two 'handbag' moments. At the end of the game however, hands were shaken and both teams were able to reflect on a highly competitive game with 100% commitment from both sides."
