"Henleaze started the livelier of the two teams on a very heavy pitch and deservedly went ahead early on. A pin point cross from Dave found Dan's head and he made no mistake from 6 yards out to equalise. Henleaze regained the advantage and went into the interval 2-1 up.
Redland upped their game in the second half and drew level with a goal direct from Dave's inswinging right footed corner from the left. Henleaze went ahead yet again only for Redland to equalise from a controversial penalty. Mark attempted to go round the Henleaze keeper but his touch appeared too heavy. The Henleaze keeper dived at his feet, made contact and brought him down. Although no appeals were made the referee had no hesitation in pointing at the spot. Dan slotted home to claim his second goal. The match finished 3-3 which was a fair reflection of the game despite the late controversy.
Overall a competitive performance by two teams who look destined to finish towards the top of the table."
Henleaze Corinthians Report:
" On a heavy pitch, and with many players carrying a bit of extra Christmas weight an entertaining, yet scrappy game was had. Corries took the lead through Tom D, before Ramblers equalised from with a header from a corner. Corries again took the lead through Jimmer. At half time there was all to play for and Ramblers came out stronger in the second half. They finally equalised direct from a corner, less said about that the better. Before Corries again took the lead through a Gaz Owen shot. Then with 15 minutes to go Redland were awarded a penalty, even though their player didnt go down, and barely any of their players appealed, but that is casuals football!!!! Game ended 3-3, which was probably a fair result. "
