Re-Union Report;

"Well, we hadn't lost a league game for three years but we were well and truly hammered today !No complaints whatsoever as we were totally outplayed by an outstanding team who's link up play was superb. We actually played okay for much of the game and had to work hard to avoid a cricket score - one of Steve Smith's cricket scores. Fair play to Wick and good luck for the season. Don't think they'll need it!"

Wick Gerry Hatricks 45's Report:

" We reverted back to 4-4-2 after tinkering with a 3-5-2 formation in our 2 previous friendlies and it worked wonders. We played some great football in the first 45 mins and were clinical in front of goal, going in at HT 4-0 up against last seasons Div 1 league champions Reunion. However we had to be at our best as Reunion were lively and had some great players that loved to get the ball down and play. Clinton Frampton was our goal machine scoring a hatrick in the first half with Craig Hiller scoring the fourth, his first goal back after scoring 6 against Shipman way back in October last year. Heading in at HT there wasn’t really much to say apart from keep playing good football, hitting the target and keeping it simply. In the second half, we couldn’t afford to take our feet of the gas and we continued to press and give Reunion no time on the ball whatsoever. Chico was busy in the midfield and Chris Garland spoiled their possession. Stu Mountford grabbed the two second half goals and was pretty instrumental all game in the centre of midfield. Final score was 6-0 to Wick. Great to keep a clean sheet, so my MOM goes to Gary Reilly. Immense at the heart of our defence, ran his heart out and looked fitter this season than last. Game was played with no handbags, ref allowed play to flow and tackles were fully committed. Thanks to Reunion for leaving the dressing rooms spotless and sharing a beer with us and the famous Raggy sausage and chips. Good luck to them for the rest of the season. A true credit to BC league. "
