Chew Magna 45's Report;

"After Recliners being on top early on they took a deserved lead and it would have been more than one goal if it hadn't been for some great saves by Keen in goal. With some fresh impetus from the subs Chew forced their way back into the game with a beautifully struck long range drive from Bartlet. Then after a well worked build up Smith was bundled over by two defenders for a penalty which Lewis calmly converted. The second half was even with Recliner pushing hard for an equaliser in the last 20 minutes. It looked like Chew would hold out until a soft penalty for a push was awarded. Recliners could have stolen the winner in the last minute but their striker saw his shot cannon off the bar. 2-2 a fair result and good banter and chip butties in Marion's afterwards."

Recliners FC Report:

" Recliners made a strong start in the first half, pressing well and took a deserved lead after 20 minutes following a pinpoint cross into the box from Sharpie, finding the head of Big Jerry who rose majestically to nod in from 5 yards. Recliners squandered a number of other great chances before Chew, somewhat against the run of play, drew level with a speculative long range shot that found the corner despite Keeper JT getting a despairing hand to it. Chew's spirits were raised by the goal as Recliners lost composure and focus and conceded a soft penalty with 10 minutes of the half remaining to go in 2-1 down at the break. The second half was a fairly even affair until the last 15 when Recliners started to pile on the pressure in a bid to get level. With 10 minutes to go a penalty was awarded to Recliners for a push in the box, which Sharpie slotted home to even things up at 2-2. Recliners continued to push for winner and in the final minute the ball fell to Sharpie in the box who smashed his shot past the keeper, only to see it bounce off the cross bar and away. Excellent ales and chip butties with the Chew boys after in the social club. Looking forward to the return fixture next week (weather permitting)"
