"Temporary management in place for this one that went something along the lines of this.... Nailsea dominated the match and after some slick first half passing eventually took a 1-0 lead with a terrific 20 yard strike from Lee Cogan. The second half started in a similar fashion but then a disastrous 10 minute spell in defense gifted 2 goals to Chew. Their keeper was outstanding and prevented further goals to give Chew the win. Quote from the boys - Never have we dominated possession so much and not come away with at least a point. No reports of incidents so 10 points awarded to Chew."
Chew Magna 45's Report:
" Its was a nice sunny day for for what turned out to be a very hard fought game. Chew started slowly and found it difficult to adapt to the 3 G, with Nailsea very much on top, and playing some flowing football. Just as Chew seemed to be getting a foothold in the game, Nailsea scored with a lovely long range shot, which turned out to be the only time Keen in the Chew goal would be beaten. Although this didn't look likely as Nailsea dominated the first half. At half time Chew made a few changes and came out determined for the second half. In quick succession Lewis as the lone striker upfront was in fully predator mode and pounced on 2 defensive errors and suddenly Chew were 2-1 up. For a period Nailsea were somewhat shell-shocked but they soon gained control again and began a relentless onslaught on the chew goal. Although on the back foot the Chew team battled bravely trying to stem the flow. However Nailsea continued to lay siege and created chance after chance, with Keen in the Chew goal, who was outstanding making save after save. Somehow Chew kept Nailsea at bay and held on to nick the win. In fairness Nailsea deserved something out of the game and Chew were very pleased to claim the 3 points in the circumstances. Thanks to Nailsea for some great hospitality back at the Sawyers with excellent curry and chips.
