"A game that we feel we should have won but but came very close to losing. Played in a great spirit without an official ref or linesmen, we had numerous opportunities to
open the scoring in the first 20 minutes but didn't take them, Chew then took the lead with a header, we responded with a
goal line scramble goal from Tahir but again in the 2nd half Chew broke and scored again. We equalised through a great
cross from Marcus to Waj who headed it past their very good goalkeeper but again 15 mins later Chew scored. Thankfully
with a minute to spare we scored through Simon. I dont tend to award 10 points for a Corinthian score but considering we had no linesmen and one of our players ended up reffing, there was no arguments or disputes of calls made and everyone tended to have a good word to say to each other as they went along trying to win"
Chew Magna 45's Report:
" Chew only had a bare 11 at the start with their Centre half keen delayed until after kick off. However they weathered an intensive first 20 minutes of pressure from Voyager and then snatched the lead with an excellent headed goal from Coppel. Voyager equalized with a scrambled goal. So 1-1 at half time with chews skipper having to leave. So the 11 dug in for the second half and took the lead twice through Bart's and Coppel a great header and a clinical finish. Just when it looked like Chew would hold on to the win Voyager grabbed the equalizer with virtually the last kick. No referee, terrible weather, sodden pitch with a pool in the Centre circle. But great camaraderie between the players, lots of humor and a great advert for Corinthian football. Chew would have loved to nick the win, but 3-3 was a fair result in the end."
