Nailsea Vets 45's Report;

"The opening exchanges were evenly balanced and at 0-0 Lee McGreevy kept Nailsea level with a couple of crucial stops as HCV were through one on one. Nailsea broke the deadlock after 15 minutes; a neat passing move down the left found Lee Cogan who ran the ball through to Darren Penny in the centre of the penalty area who calmly put the ball to the keepers left. 1-0. Nailsea began to dominate possession and any HCV attacks were calmly dealt with by Mark F, Iain, Andy and Munch at the back. A second goal came for Nailsea after 25 minutes. Previously the provider, Lee Cogan was on hand from six yards out. Jerry Randall replaced Darren late in the first half and his first touch (I think) found the back of the net, flicking on after a through ball from Jez. 3-0 at halftime. Jez commanded the centre of midfield throughout the game and late on in the second half won the ball to run through on goal and neatly side foot into the net to make if 4-0. A fifth followed after Andy Povey followed up on a rebound off the bar. Apologies to HCV for the ‘handbags’ with the player running the line. We were both in the wrong so no excuses. Both teams do play the game in the right spirit and it’s great that we all retain the passion for the game but at our age we (I) should know better! It was good to shake hands and enjoy a post match pint in Sawyers afterwards. "

HC Voyager FC Report:

" Nailsea are a strong side with lots of skill, better team on the day and deserved the win. Only down side was there wasn't enough chips to go with the Curry they very kindly provided! Top team despite our occasional on pitch disagreements. Good Luck for 2019"
