"A rare occasion when we played better in the second half than we did in the first, although that wasn't particularly difficult.
Keeping the ball and making more than two passes in a row to be worked on in training.
Chew played the game in good spirit and deserved the win.
That said, even though we were far from competitive at times, take away a few lucky bounces, add a goal rather than a miss from a 1 on 1 with the keeper and ignore the usual comedy goal and who knows, it could have been closer.
I wonder how long my blind optimism will last?"
Chew Magna 45's Report:
" Chew continued their strong start to the season with solid all round performance against a hard working Shipham team. Chew controlled the early exchanges and their pressure told after Bryant slotted home a rebound off the post . Cornelius side footed in a second after a nice cut back from Lewis who then fired a shot in the corner for Chew's 3rd. Williams looped in a long lob over the keeper to make it 4 at half time. Shipham battled hard at the start of the second half, before Chew once against asserted themselves. Nye fired one into the corner, then Bannister slotted home at close range after some goal mouth ping pong. Lewis scored his second by firing a shot into the roof of the net from close range. The after match hospitality was supherb, drinks at the cider shed, with mini pizzas, chips and bread and cheese. Thanks to the Shipham lads, and good luck for the rest of the season."
