"This was a really good game, played in the right way by both teams, with very little to choose between them. Recliners lead 1-0 at half time thanks to Bob Melville's quick turn and strike, but truth to tell it was our only decent chance and Nailsea could justifiably have felt a shade unlucky to be behind at the break. In the second half, with the advantage of going down the slope at BAWA, Recliners had more of the game and created several golden opportunities, all of which were spurned. Nailsea still had a lot of the ball but the Recliners defence held firm. The game was settled by a superb strike from outside the box by Tim Prior after a corner was cleared out to him. All in all a well contested game, played in a good spirit and well refereed, an injury to our full back, which was a freak accident and no fault of anyone's, being the only thing to mar the day. "
Nailsea Vets 45's Report:
" Well I wasn’t there in person but by all accounts NVs could have felt a little unlucky not to take anything away from this one. Recliners defended their 1-0 half time lead manfully in the second half after a first 45 that saw both teams creating plenty of chances. A second for Recliners in the second period sealed the win. Hard to swallow first defeat of the season but the top of the league’s looking interesting with plenty still to play for. "
