"Bryan kicked off the season in a new league but back at Fortress Shire. That lasted 3 minutes before Rapid went ahead with a superb shot over the keeper. A new and bizarre formation for Bryan meant we actually got the ball forward and Matt, on his debut levelled on 10 minutes. Bryan then took the lead with a run from Chris expertly finished by Jordan. Ant then lobbed the keeper and Matt got his second so at half time it was 4-1. It couldn't last, and on the hour Rapid got a deserved 2nd. Then a 3rd. Might have got more had it not been for Dan in otherworldly form in the Bryan goal. Matt settled a nervy Bryan by completing his hat-trick and securing the 3 points. Good luck to Rapid, a fine Corinthian team ."
Rapid Dementia Report:
" Rapids first ever match in the Corinthian League and the focus was on actually getting there due to the Bristol Half! The topic of the opening team talk was the films and characters of Harrison Ford. Manager Gregory went to great lengths that the defence should look to play from the back unless there was a 'Clear and Present Danger' and that we were not to be 'Frantic' in midfield. And as my 'Witness' we opened the play with some great passing football leading to a superb finish from outside of the box! However the experienced Bryan Munich were not phased and some poor passing gifted them with some clear chances expertly converted by their front man! Kev Presley pulled his calf muscle so it was 'Enders Game' for him and Rapid then tried 'Extraordinary Measures' switching to three in central midfield. The gap was closed and Rapid began to dominate and an excellent finish from Sam Morton and a training ground move saw Ant Presley finish but it was not to be as Bryan took advantage of a mix up at the back to extend their lead again.
On the whole it was a very enjoyable introduction to the Corinthian League, played in the right spirit! Half of the team got lost on the way home, but the main concern with no showers present was 'What Lies Beneath'.
