Wick Gerry Hatricks 45's Report:

" Cardiff Accies started the brighter of the 2 teams with only a few minutes on the clock, Spotty (Chris Davis) in goal was called into action, Big john dwelled on the ball in the box and was robbed of the ball to present a good chance to Cardiff, but it was well saved. This was what Wick Gerry Hattricks needed to wake up after the long journey from Bristol. We started to get organised, however, the snow on the Doom side of the pitch made it quite tricky down one side of the pitch. Wick opened the scoring after 10 minutes, when a good turn inside the penalty area by Clinton Frampton, created some room for a smart finish into the bottom corner. Cardiff Accies enjoyed their fair share of possession but each time Wick broke forward they looked dangerous. Deano (Dean Quirke) marked his debut with a cracking goal after 25 minutes. As the ball dropped over his shoulder from 12 yards out he hooked the ball into the top corner giving Cardiff’s keeper no choice. After 35 minutes, Wick made two substitutions and one of those got Wick’s third. Matt Davis’s superb free kick found the top corner from 30 yards. HT Cardiff 0-3 Wick It was again Cardiff Accies who started the 2nd half livelier with some great inter-changing passing in their 5 man midfield, however, it was Wick who increased their lead to 4-0. On 55 minutes Paul (Raggy) Radinage latched onto a Rich Dodsworth through ball and his cool finish gave the Cardiff keeper no chance. It wasn’t long before another Wick debutant scored. After a mix up in the Cardiff Accies defence, Dave Guyatt was the quickest to react and finish from 6 yards out. After 75 minutes, Deano got his 2nd of the match and Wick’s sixth, when the Cardiff Accies defence failed to clear a cross, he picked up the loose ball and finished coolly from 12 yards. With the game entering the last 10 minutes Cardiff Accies got a consolation goal. Bondy's clearance fell straight to a Cardiff Accies player who guided his shot pass Spotty into bottom corner. The game was played in good spirit, no handbags at all, but as mentioned, the snow down the side of the pitch in the shade made it difficult at times. The cold showers also were not a hit. Wick’s MOM was Deano for two great goals on his debut. Wick would like to wish Cardiff Accies all the best for the rest of the season."
