"Like a fine wine, Decliners have been improving as the season has gone on and this was probably our best result so far. Against a very good Bryan side, who bossed possession for long periods, we kept our shape and discipline, defended as a team and almost sneaked an unlikely win. Chances were few and far between in a goalless first half, both keepers made on great save each and Bryan hit the post after a scramble from a corner. Second half Bryan were quick out of the blocks and it was against the run of play when Longy blasted the rebound from a blocked shot into the net. Bryan's equalizer was a sublime left footed finish from the edge of the area giving the keeper no chance. Rather than folding, as we have been used to doing at this point, Decliners pushed on and took the lead again when Dan's persistence as the lone striker finally got its reward. Bryan equalized when debutant Tony rifled the ball into his own net after confusion in the Decliners backline. A draw was the right result in a well contested game that was excellently refereed and played in the proper way by both teams throughout. Good luck to Bryan for the run in!"
Bryan Munich Report:
" Injury-ravaged Bryan Munich booked a plastic pitch to get this one played, Possibly shouldn't have. Decliners were wonderful. All through the team, from the lone striker that got the goal that his play deserved to the incredibly rapid 'keeper which meant that any ball over the top was simply collected. Bryan had the chances, but largely the Decliners defence held strong and crowded us out. A goalless stalemate at half time then led to a second half where Decliners went ahead twice until Bryan managed to get level, converting two of the many chances.
Decliners well worth their point, if not all three. "
