"The rain finally stopped and the sun shone as Rapid played host to Shipham in this penultimate game of the season. However much like the rest of the country, the pitch at Norton hill School was about to witness a flood of its own!
With the Curtis brothers fresh back from their camping holiday on Craggy Island, Jase took the news of being substitute better than Matt who appeared angry from the start.
The game started as an even affair with both sides enjoying some nice possession but as Rapid began to work the ball into wide positions the Shipham defence came undone Two quick fire goals set the tone for the rest of the match.
Rapid upped the pressure and the goal tally started to rise, even Dave Stokes who often finds himself past our own strikers netting with an excellent lofted finish.
However the headlines must go to Jason Curtis, from banging in tent pegs one week to banging in goals the next! Some say it was 5, some (including Jase) say he got 6 but all we know for sure is that when the final whistle blew Rapid had scored 13.
Fair play to Shipham who competed throughout, and netted a couple for themselves!
Rapid now look to the last game of the season knowing that a good result against Red Star will see them claim the title!
