"Missing 5 or 6 core players was not great against a quality Rapid side. This was evident in the first half, we struggled to cope with their passing and pace and found ourselves 4 – 0 down very early, although every shot seemed to nestle very nicely in the bottom corner, and a fortuitous cross evading everyone and ending up in the back of the net, doh. Craig managed to get one back for us after beating their sweeper / keeper and tucking away nicely. 6 – 1 down at half time, doh. Made a formation change at half time, reverting to 3 in centre mid which made it a much more even and competitive second half. We scored one of the best goals you are likely to see, starting from the back, a series of one two’s and a great finish by Hickers… Brazil would have been proud! Perhaps if we would have had a proper ref, (our injured winger taking the whistle) they would of blown up for Rapids 7th goal, as their striker was clearly having unnecessary handbags with Al when the corner was taken and everyone had essentially stopped to try and calm things down, except the Rapid player who tapped the ball in. Doh. Can’t complain with the result, the better team won, on the day."
Rapid Viagra Report:
" A depleted Viagra squad ran out comfortable winners vs LB Vets. First half was a very one sided affair with Viagra making good use of the wind and decisive passing to go into the break 6-1 up. Second half was a more even affair.
LB's referee was nothing short of outstanding - extremely rare to find a non qualified referee who can officiate fairly in this league. Game was eagerly contested from both sides.
Will Osborne was moved up top in a management masterstroke and netted 4 times, Adam Bamford scored twice alongside goals from Stu Latham and a cross into the top corner from Rick Green."
