Wick Gerry Hatricks Report:

" Wick came up against a strong, physical, well organised Trojan Vets team on a blustery morning at Fry's. Condition's didn't help Wick's game, but we still tried to get the ball down and play football. Wick had a few chances in the first 20 minutes, but it was a freekick taken by Andy Summers after 30 mins that skimmed Trojan's upright from about 30 yards. It was Trojan who had the better of the next 10 mins, but it was Wick's top goal scorer, Marc Ashley on 38 mins, who cheekly made the breakthrough with a back heel from inside the 6 yard area after good work from Scott Young. Wick were enjoying a lot of possession and just before HT, it was again Ashley who's screamer hit the Trojan upright. HT - Trojan 0-1 Wick. Wick made a number of HT substitutions, but kept the same formation and continued where they left off after the break. Wick's centre-half partnership of Mark Summers and Jon Vear were resolute at the back supported by Jimmer, JB and Burnsy. With 20 mins to go, a long ball from the Trojan centre half was half collected by Wick's keeper, but his clearance fell to Trojan's centre midfielder who's shot after sprinting back into goal was acrobatically saved by Wick's keeper. On 78 mins, Ashley collected the ball from Stu Mountford and took the ball past two Trojan defenders and his thunderous shot was to good for their keeper, 2-0 to Wick. Ashley was on fire and it was a keeper's toe that kept him from getting another hattrick. The game ended Wick 2-0 winners against Trojan Vets. The game was played in great vets spirit, good luck to Trojan for the remaining part of the season."
