"A entertaining match - Cilycoed had most of the ball with some good passing but again we lacked clinical finishing which again cost us. LB Took there chances well where as Cilycoed did not.. "
LB Vets Report:
" A hot sunny morning and an entertaining game. A few guys had forgot their passports so we turned in Wales with 12. Coed had more of the ball early on, but we managed to score a breakaway goal when Simmo put Hooks through and he lobbed the keeper from out side the box. We had to soak up a lot of pressure but Coed didnt have any cutting edge in the first half, and we managed to nick a second just before the half when Hooks picked the ball up on our right, cut across the area and shot into the left corner. We started a bit better in the second and got a 3rd when Hooks cut in from the edge of the area and again left the keeper with no chance. Coed then woke up and bombarded us for about 15 minutes, the forward who came on just before half time gave them the spark they needed and they eventually got one back for 3-1. A couple more chances went begging before we got back into the game. A foul throw by their bespectacled right back, gave us the chance for our own quick throw with Owen again putting Hooky in space and he did what he does best (no not showboat, no not annoy everyone, no not an impression of a teapot) and finished nicely for 4-1. Coed must have had 65% of the possession but thsnkfully we had Hooky! Good spirit, decent bunch of lads, and nice pasties afterwards. See you at our place next season lads."
